Llanbadarn Road remains closed this weekend but could reopen by Tuesday.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible after a burst water main at the entrance to Penweddig School and a damaged electricity cable led to the closure of the road.

Temporary traffic lights put up earlier this week at the burst pipe area resulted in long delays. A decision was then taken to close the road for repair work to take place.

On Thursday evening a power cut also affected residents in the area.

SP Energy said it became aware of the power cut at 9.10pm and hoped to resolve the problem by 11.15pm.

It is hoped the road will reopen early this week, with a spokesperson for Welsh Water saying: “Our teams are meeting with Scottish Power this weekend to commence the repair, they are anticipating that this will be completed by Tuesday.”
