Llanbadarn Road remains closed today and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

The road continues to be affected by a burst water main at the entrance to Penweddig School. An electricity cable is also thought to have been damaged.

Earlier this week, temporary traffic lights were put up around the burst pipe area resulting in long delays, but a decision was then taken to close the road for repair work to take place.

On Thursday evening a power cut also affected residents in the area.

SP Energy said it became aware of the power cut at 9.10pm and hoped to resolve the problem by 11.15pm.

The road is expected to be closed until next week due to the burst water main and a broken electricity cable.

Welsh Water has been asked to comment.
