The youngest walker to attempt the full distance was local lad Robbie Cummings. The checkpoints had been briefed to encourage Robbie along the way, but were amazed at this 13-year-old’s plucky courage and fantastic sense of humour. Robbie, who was accompanied by his mum Joanne, walked the full distance and family members walked the last few miles.
