THE Ceredigion branch of the RSPCA is looking for volunteers to help raise funds and look after at-risk animals in the county.

Secretary of the RSPCA Ceredigion branch Frances Miller, said: “We need people to help with collecting and raising funds, fostering animals while new homes are sought, meeting people who want to offer new homes for pets and helping to trap difficult cats for re-homing.”

The branch is also seeking people with committee experience or who could help as a minutes secretary.

The branch was at Morrisons recently collecting funds, with dedicated collections organiser Steve Woods collecting from shoppers alongside his companion dog Sherpa.

Steve, a former para who has been volunteering for the charity for over four years, said: “I really enjoy the work. I have a great love of animals, and I’m doing some good. It’s a great organisation and it benefits a lot of animals and people.”
