MOUNTAINS of rubbish have been collected to protect wildlife and waterways.
A Snowdonia National Park team collected a huge amount of rubbish in the Pennal area so it cannot circulate in the Dyfi estuary, home to thousands of different types of flora and fauna.
This work contributes towards the aim of the SAC Pen Llyn a’r Sarnau project, an initiative to protect the seas and rivers in north-west Wales.
“Loads of rubbish collected before it went on to harm wildlife in the estuary and the sea. Amazing work by all involved. Da iawn,” a SAC Pen Llyn a’r Sarnau spokesperson stated.
