A Harlech schoolboy has decided to take action in the fight against dog mess in the town.
Seven-year-old Archie Dyer, (seen right) who attends Ysgol Tan y Castell, was inspired after watching a YouTube video about people in other parts of the world filling plastic bottles with bags and strapping them to trees for people to use to pick up after their dogs.
Archie’s mum, Rebecca Morris, said: “He saw this video and showed it to me and I encouraged him to make some.
“Dog mess is a big problem in Harlech sadly.
“He has been busy over the weekend distributing the poop bag bottles onto lampposts around Harlech.
“We made around 12 in the end and mainly concentrated on the route to school as that’s where we find there is a problem with poop.”
Network Rail visited Archie in school this week and rewarded him with a goodie bag for his unique way of helping fight the problem of dog mess.
