TWO Aberystwyth schoolgirls have taken part in the Great North Run in Newcastle to raise money for charity.
For Demi Lee Jenkins, a nine-year-old pupil at Ysgol Gymraeg, it was her fifth run in both mini 1k and now Junior 4k age groups. Each time she raised money for Bloodwise Cancer Charity (formerly Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research), Demi has already raised around £500 in the last four years.
For her cousin Lela Ann Morgan Jenkins, a four-year-old pupil at Ysgol Talybont, it was her the first time in the mini race.
Demi and Lela have so far raised £265 again for the Bloodwise Charity in memory of their great uncle Steven Southgate who died of cancer 12 years ago.
