SCOUTS headed to the beach between Llanina and New Quay for a litter-pick.

The 2nd New Quay and Llanarth Scout Group headed to the seaside on 11 June where Beavers, Cubs and Scouts picked up all the litter that was lying on the beach, from rope to bottles to polystyrene.

By the end of the day the group were celebrating their successful day with ice cream on the beach.

New Quay mayor Dan Potter was thankful for the collection of six bin bags of rubbish and told the Scouts he was grateful for their help and that if it weren’t for them, the beaches would be covered in rubbish.

The beach-clean was one of a number of events held in the run-up to a day camp at Gellie, near Plwmp, on Saturday, where the group will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a reunion of leaders and members.
