Madam,
The ancient, submerged forest is an important part of Borth and its heritage.
‘Tree’, which would be situated adjacent to the forest, but not within it, aims to draw attention to this area’s rich history and fascinating legends, and highlight the vulnerability of this unique landscape at a time of climate change and rising sea levels. It would represent the physical changes to the landscape, past and future, within Cardigan Bay.
Robert Davies, an internationally acclaimed artist, has compiled a thorough, detailed plan for his concept which can be seen at www.cargocollective.com/CeredigionTree and his all-encompassing planning application is easily accessed online.
This work would provide a thought-provoking icon and act as an inspirational educational stimulus for students of all ages and subjects.
Also, public art brings new groups of visitors to areas throughout the whole year and proves to be of huge benefit to businesses and the local economy in general.
Yours etc,
