Madam,

We are once again approaching The Poppy Appeal time when poppies are sold on behalf of the Royal British Legion as part of the Remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country in many parts of the world.

All money collected is used for the welfare of the Armed Forces family.

The caravan will be in Owain Glyndwr Square, in Aberystwyth, from Friday, 27 October until Remembrance Day Saturday, 11 November.

We sell poppies in and near the supermarkets, house-to-house and on the streets (during clement weather).

As always we welcome any help and volunteers, who may have a few hours to spare, and wish to assist the Legion at this time could call at the caravan. We will be very grateful for any help.

The serving members, veterans and their families have been helped tremendously over the years and we hope that help will continue with support from the people of Aberystwyth and district as has been the case for the past 50 years and more.

Yours etc,

Alex Luckhurst-Doig, chairman, Aberystwyth branch of the Royal British Legion.
