Madam,

Following the abysmally shortsighted decision by the powers that be over Bodlondeb, I was appalled to hear that the proposal for the tree sculpture on Borth beach has faced yet another setback. It seems ironic to me that on the one hand there is a move for change and on the other a resistance to it.

Regarding the Borth beach sculpture, artist Robert Davies has gone to a lot of trouble to jump through all the hoops to get planning permission for an addition to the area that can only serve to promote local and tourist interest and therefore be a significant boost to the local economy. There is a parallel here with the Brexit vote. A rather selfish regard for self-interest is derailing a potentially positive venture.
