SHOPPERS in Dolgellau have raised over £15,000 for local good causes.

The Co-op Local Community Fund has handed out cheques to three local causes thanks to money raised by people shopping at their Dolgellau store.

Every time members shop at Co-op, one per cent of what they spend on selected own-branded products and services goes to help fund community projects where they live.

The latest recipients were Dolgellau and Barmouth Hospital League of Friends, who received £5,156.46; Cylch Meithrin Dolgellau who collected a cheque for £5,066.50 and Llanelltyd Village Hall was handed £4,968.46.
