The First Minister has said a "simpler" set of national rules will be in place throughout Wales after the firebreak lockdown ends on 9 November - overtaking the previous local lockdowns, which will no longer apply.
Shops, gyms, bars and restaurants will reopen after 9 November, the First Minister confirmed in a press conference this lunchtime, along with schools, places of worship and community centres for "small groups".
The national measures will be finalised over the weekend and announced on Monday, Mr Drakeford said.
But he asked people not to treat the new rules "as a game".
"We should all do everything we can to reduce the contacts we have with other people," he said, adding he "cannot express" his "sorrow" that 60 families were facing the loss of loved ones this week due to Covid.
He added that a "rapidly accelerating pattern" of virus spread showed that the firebreak lockdown was necessary - and its impact would be seen in the coming weeks.
"We have acted now in the hope that we can have a Christmas with coronavirus brought under control," Mr Drakeford said.
