A sink hole has appeared in the car park of one of Aberystwyth’s main beaches.
Mike Hirst, owner of Aberystwyth shop, Stormriders, posted a video online on Tuesday morning showing a hole in the ground between Tanybwlch beach and the Ystwyth river, in the main parking area for the beach.
Ceredigion County Council workers are on the scene and have fenced off the sink hole which measures around five foot in diameter.
A spokesperson for the council said: "Ceredigion County Council is aware of the hole that has appeared at Tan y Bwlch, Aberystwyth.
"The area has been cordoned off and is being assessed. We urge the public to stay clear as a safety precaution."
Storm Ciara has battered the coast all weekend with more heavy rain and winds forecast for this weekend, with Storm Dennis due to reach the west coast of Wales on Saturday.
