A FESTIVAL of flight is winging its way to Llanbedr next summer.
‘Parafest UK – A Festival of Ultralight Flight’ has recently announced that it will be hosting its unique celebration of all things light aviation at the Snowdonia Aerospace Centre next July (27-29).
The weekend event at Llanbedr Airfield will focus on all varieties of paragliders, paramotors, hang gliders, powered hang gliders with stalls and entertainment to delight pilots and non-pilots alike.
Trading alongside the flying stalls there will also be plenty of non flying stalls, a kids zone, a variety of food caterers, a licenced bar, professional live acts in the festival arena and a disco tent.
Mark Meadows, Parafest organiser, was excited to host the festival within a stone’s throw of the splendour of Snowdonia.
“This stunning location offers everything a pilot could wish for in a flying event,” he said.
“Flying the peaks and valleys to the summit of Snowdon is on many pilot’s wish list.
“Llanbedr is situated on the edge of Snowdonia National Park and the peak of Mount Snowdon, less than 20 miles away, is clearly visible from the airfield.
Llanbedr Airfield is right on the coast and benefits from a smooth sea breeze enabling easy, relaxed flying all day long.
The coastline is some of the most picturesque in Wales with miles of unspoilt sandy beaches and picture postcard towns, castles and breathtaking scenery for you to explore.
“Being on the edge of Snowdonia National Park means we are also within easy driving distance from many great paragliding sites. All wind directions and experience levels can be catered for. Wales has everything from relaxed coastal sea breeze soaring to inland thermic sites.
“Whatever aircraft you fly you are welcome to fly in, park up, camp up and enjoy the festival weekend.”
