MEIRIONNYDD Artist’s Society is celebrating its 60th year with an exhibition in Dolgellau.

The Meirionnydd Artists Society is holding its annual exhibition at Ty Siamas Dolgellau in August, but this year’s event sees the group reach the special milestone of 60 years.

This year’s winner of the £50 prize and the Kathleen Oakley Trophy is Sue Barnes of Dipsy Dragon, Dolgellau with her stone work entitled ‘O’r môr’ (of the sea).

Highly commended is Brenda Jones of Llanelltyd with her plastic sea wall made of mixed plastic.

Also highly commended was Peter Barnes of Dipsy Dragon with his stone ware Breaking Waves.

An exhibition of the society’s work will be on display in Ty Siamas until 30 August.
