TOP comedian Lee Evans made a surprise visit to Cardigan Castle on Friday.

The rubber-faced comic took advantage of the lovely spring weather to tour the grounds, visit the exhibitions and have a snack in the 1176 restaurant.

Castle staff were completely star-struck by their famous visitor.

Admin officer Sue Edwards persuaded Lee to strike a pose on the castle’s iconic eisteddfod chair.

“He was absolutely lovely,” she said. “He wasn’t too keen on having his picture taken at first, but I think he was just charmed by the castle!”
