THREE sisters from Cardigan have lost an amazing 172lbs this year – that’s a total of over 12 stone.

And they dramatically got to their goal weight on the same evening at a Cardigan Weightwatchers meeting.

The weight-loss has meant life has changed so much for Debbie Hand, who lost 82lbs; Sarah Carter, who lost 50lbs; and Tracey Hand, who lost 40lb.

“I had been a yo-yo dieter since I had my first child 25 years ago,” said Debbie.

“After that I had a little extra weight and said it was baby fat – sadly it never went away. I was sick of being the fat sister and therefore joined Cardigan Weightwatchers in January 2016.

"As the weight started coming off my sisters decided to join as well – this meant sticking to the Weightwatchers plan, which was easy, became a competition between us.

"I used to drink litres of sugary drinks daily and hardly exercised – now life has changed for me and I go for daily long walks and have the very occasional Pepsi.”

Tracey added: “I saw how Weightwatchers was working for Debbie and I could see the changes she was making to her eating habits so I decided to join as well and it worked.

"For me it was definitely portions sizes – I kept eating what I love but just cut down on the quantity and I was overjoyed to reach my goal weight on the same night as my siblings."
