A weather warning has been issued for parts of North and West Wales today with strong winds expected to cause disruption overnight.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning from 8pm this evening until just before midnight tomorrow, Thursday.

The warning covers parts of Gwynedd, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

According to the Met Office, strong winds could cause delays to road, rail, air and ferry journeys.

Bus and train services may also be affected, with some journeys taking longer.

Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are likely and some short term loss of power and other services is possible.

Some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities could also be affected by spray and/or large waves.

Damage to trees with debris on roads is also possible given the time of year.
