DOZENS of the world’s finest mechanical and engineering minds are flocking to the Meirionydd coast to showcase their potentially life-saving drones.
The 2018 Institution of Mechanical Engineers Unmanned Aircraft Systems Challenge will feature 25 teams from various universities doing battle with their custom-built drones.
The competition will take place on 18-19 June at the Snowdonia Aerospace Centre near Llanbedr for the second year in a row, with local schoolchildren visiting to explore the exciting technological developments of recent years.
Now in its fourth year, the annual competition has been growing steadily, more than doubling in the number of teams that took part in the inaugural event.
