HOSPITAL and postal staff are looking to offer struggling African women support.
Dolgellau Hospital Out Patient Department are once again collaborating in a community initiative to collect surplus bras to be sent to women in developing countries such as Togo, Ghana and Kenya where bras are expensive and often unaffordable.
The project also raises vital funds for the Against Breast Cancer Charity for research into secondary breast cancer. For every tonne of bras collected, the company receives £700 to fund their vital research.
The hospital and Post Office are collecting unwanted bras until October with the aim of promoting Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
If you would like to donate bras that you no longer need, they can be left with Suzanne Williams at Dolgellau Post Office or can be left in the out patient reception where there is a Bra Bank. All donations will be very gratefully received.
