ABERYSTWYTH actor Taron Egerton has wowed viewers of US late night talk show, Tonight with Jimmy Fallon, with his rendition of Calon Lân.

Taron, who grew up in Aberystwyth, shot to fame starring as Eggsy in the Kingsman franchise, appeared on the popular show alongside his Robin Hood co-star, Jamie Foxx.

The two actors filmed the brand new Robin Hood movie, which is produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, in Croatia.

And whilst on set, Oscar winner Foxx says he was impressed by Taron’s singing voice.

Foxx - who has featured on several hit songs including Kanye West’s Gold Digger for which he won a Grammy - told the host, Fallon: "The boy can absolutely sing, I try to hold that space and then I heard this dude sing and thought ’who’s this in my lane?’

"We were in this church and he started singing something, what were you singing...?"

Taron, takes a moment to compose himself and gives the audience and viewers a rendition of the first verse of the Welsh hymn, which goes down a storm.

A clip from the show, which you can watch below, has since garnered more than 263,000 views on the Tonight Show’s YouTube channel.

Robin Hood will be released in November with Taron playing the lead role and Jamie Foxx as Little John.
