Madam,

I have had reason to use two slightly unusual NHS services over the last few weeks and I wanted to just send out a huge thank you to the teams involved, who provided timely, professional help and went out of their way to do the best for me and others involved.

The first was the out of hours hotline that I rang on a Saturday evening; the doctor made sure that I got medication within a few hours (and even ran the script over to the chemist as their fax facilities were broken).

The second was the paramedics and air ambulance crew, who came out on the coldest day of the year, had to sit in snow for two hours with a casualty and then managed to get them out of a valley by air and taken to hospital.

We are very lucky!
