THE PARENTS of a two-year-old Aberystwyth boy who spent last Christmas in a hospital bed are “praying” he is able to spend this year’s festivities at home.

Tee-Jay Holloway, from Penparcau, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia just before Christmas last year and spent the entire festive period being cared for by specialists at the Heath Hospital, Cardiff.

After spending last Christmas by Tee Jay’s bedside fearing the worst, his mum, Kelly Gornall, told the Cambrian News the family were hoping he would be able to spend his first Christmas at home in two years.

She said: “We don’t really have much planned for Christmas, just praying Tee-Jay has a Christmas at home. He’s three now and really excited — he keeps asking ‘how many sleeps is it now?’

“This is the most excited he’s been so we’re all really happy and counting down the days. We’re hoping for a nice family day with lots of presents — this year will be extra special.”

But Kelly said the family are still “on edge”, with Tee-Jay having visited hospital regularly over the past 12 months.
