Madam,
I would like to take a moment to congratulate and thank the ‘gang of four’ women (they know who they are) who, with the help of a few volunteers, stepped into the breach and saved Dolgellau’s Christmas late-night shopping event.
It was a massive effort and, despite a number of obstacles, they managed to do Dolgellau proud.
Their efforts should be recognised and applauded.
Conversely, I would also like to ask why the town council has let the town down by leaving us with the pathetic record of being possibly the only town in the area where the council has seen fit to cancel Christmas, or at least their contribution to it in the way of festive lights and decorations?
I would like to formally ask our mayor to tell us what his council is doing for the benefit of the town and why four women, three of whom, incidentally, are relative newcomers to the town, have to organise such a major event in the town’s calendar?
I look forward to the response from the council.
Yours etc,
Dr Peter Barnes, Cader Road, Dolgellau.
