ALANA Spencer, the Aberystwyth entrepreneur who shot to fame after winning The Apprentice, has told the Cambrian News she is now looking for her own apprentice.
Speaking exclusively to the Cambrian News this week, Alana explained what life has been like since winning one of Britain’s most popular reality TV shows, her plans for the future of her business, Ridiculously Rich by Alana, and what it was like growing up in Ceredigion.
“I was announced as winner of the show around Christmas time, which was quite a tricky time really,” said Alana, who has lived in Aberystwyth for two years after living with her parents in Llanrhystud.
“It was quite good because there were lots of orders on the website, which is amazing, but it was mental trying to get them all out.
“I took Christmas to work out what the plan was going forward. I had Christmas Day off, but my body decided to have a cold so I spent Boxing Day recovering from that.”
Having won one of BBC One’s flagship shows and securing a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar in the process, it would be reasonable to assume Alana was now having to deal with the trappings of fame.
“Not really,” said Alana. “The week I found out that I had won, it was a bit weird then.
“A lady hugged me in the street which was quite nice, but it has all died down now. I get more people in London looking at me, so it is quite nice not having so much attention in Aberystwyth.”
