AN Aberystwyth youth theatre company has announced an exciting programme of events for the summer, and is calling on people to join in.
Between 21 July and 6 August, Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch will be presenting a large-scale community project in Aberystwyth called Hen Llinell Bell - A Far Old Line.
The project will celebrate the culture and heritage of Ceredigion through a series of exciting artistic performances and events in locations all across town, including many outdoors.
Arad Goch will be working closely with the local community – schools, businesses, clubs, societies – in order to create an innovative and inclusive outdoor extravaganza.
Local audiences and visitors will be able to experience individual events that will also encourage them to return and experience more of what’s on offer.
One of the main aims of the project, which draws inspiration from the story of Cantre’r Gwaelod and coincides with Visit Wales’ Year of Legends, is to bring together people from different backgrounds and interests.
There will be many opportunities to take part, from volunteering with production and marketing teams, to performing.
Professional training and mentorship will be provided for volunteers, therefore previous experience is not necessary.
Jeremy Turner, artistic director of Arad Goch, said: “Our aim is to see Aberystwyth transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour and a cauldron of creativity during the summer. Come and join in the fun.”
The events will include, among many others, The Story Tree, The Seagulls and The Sea King’s Feast.
For more information, or to take part, contact Jeremy Turner at [email protected]; call 01970 617998; or visit Arad Goch on Bath Street, Aberystwyth.
