A GRATEFUL mayor has thanked everyone who made the 150th anniversary of Barmouth Bridge “spectacular”.
Across the weekend, thousands of visitors and residents crammed into the town to celebrate the iconic wooden viaduct with the party climaxing on Saturday night with a breathtaking Fireworks and laser extravaganza.
Despite the huge crowds and clogged roadways, there was a festival atmosphere in the seaside town with dozens of talks and exhibitions all bringing the history of the bridge to life in new and interesting ways.
Cllr Rob Triggs, the town’s mayor, was quick to thank everyone who made the weekend special.
“Thank you to everyone who came along and supported this weekend’s festivities in celebration of our lovely viaduct,” he said.
