ROADWORKS on the Llyn Peninsula are set to disrupt summer traffic.
“Essential” road maintenance work is to be carried out in three areas of Dwyfor over the coming weeks.
In Pwllheli, excavation and resurfacing work is to be carried out on the A497/A499 between Y Maes and Station Square from 5 June for three days.
To lessen the impact on traffic, Gwynedd Council will carry out the work overnight between 6pm and 6am, with traffic lights in operation.
In Y Ffôr, similar work is to be carried out on the A499, from 12 June for three days.
The work will be carried out during working hours and traffic lights will be in operation.
Finally, in Llanaelhaearn, further excavation and resurfacing work will also be carried out on the A499 from 3 July, and it is scheduled to be completed within three days. Traffic lights will be in use in the village to allow the work to be carried out.
The council has said it will be writing to local residents and business who will be affected directly by this work to explain the situation.
A spokesperson for the county council said: “We appreciate that this sort of work can cause disturbance and inconvenience for those living in these areas as well as passing traffic.
“We would like to thank residents, business owners and motorists in advance for their patience while this essential work is carried out on the Llyn.”
