Madam,
Re; Llanbedr bypass.
Over many years (decades), the people of the once thriving village of Llanbedr have been offered opportunities to improve the local infrastructure. These lost chances may have robbed the young people of the village of their opportunities to gain work and remain living in the area.Sadly, the negative campaigners succeeded in halting development, stating the “bypass” or ‘access improvement’ schemes would destroy the village and the businesses. However, in the past 20 or more years, most of the enterprises have now left the village. In addition, since the closure of the airbase, the promised redevelopment and employment opportunities have failed to materialise, perhaps due to accessibility issues.
We now have another opportunity for a ‘bypass’ to facilitate economic activity at the airfield. Plus the chance to improve life for the village residents. This time, we must ensure the positive voices are heard which welcome the proposals, as jobs come with improved infrastructure. We have seen the “progress” the negative voices have achieved which has left our once thriving village bereft of commercial enterprises. It is time to welcome change and support the proposed development for the future generations.
Yours etc
C Richardson
Llanbedr.
