Madam,
How good to read some positive news (Railway named in world’s top 10 epic train journeys).
The Cambrian Coast railway line has been rated as one of the world’s most spectacular railway trips and north Wales is named by Lonely Planet as one of the world’s top regions to visit. What more do we need to attract more tourists to the area?
How do we respond to this challenge? We close our tourist information centres which provide vital information of places to explore, where to stay, walks to take, sell maps and booklets and generally welcome visitors.
The decision to close these centres really must be reconsidered or the economy of the area, which depends so much on tourism, the money the visitors bring with them and the jobs they provide, will certainly suffer.
Yours etc,
Moragh Bradshaw, Penrhyndeudraeth.
