A CHEQUE for £8,000 was presented to a cancer charity in memory of a Felindre couple.

Liz Andrews, charity director for Cancer Research Wales was handed the cheque by Osian Jones, Tomos Lloyd-Jones and Efa Lloyd-Jones in memory of their grandparents Wyn and Bethan Jones of Maes-y-Berllan.

The money was raised following a successful tractor run, auction and raffle at Ffostrasol Arms in July organised by Mr and Mrs Jones’ children Eryl Jones and Carys Lloyd-Jones.

Mrs Jones died 20 years ago after suffering breast cancer and painter and decorator Mr Jones died last year after suffering from a brain tumour.
