THE SERVICE on Sunday, 8 May, will be held in the Memorial Hall, beginning at 2.30pm and led by Rev Roger Hides.

Clwb Cerdded

THE NEXT walk is scheduled for 7 May and is called ‘The Bothy and beyond to Bryn Dafydd’, with leader Gwen Cutter (01974 298309). This walk has the feel of starting in the middle of nowhere. Heading over to the Claerddu Bothy, formerly Claerddu farm, the group follows Nant Banc Mawr north over to a series of lakes. In fact, at Carreg Naw Llyn you can actually see nine bodies of water in a 360-degree panoramic. Passing various lakes they will continue north-west to Bryn Dafydd (568m) where views to Snowdonia, Preseli Mountains and the Brecon Beacons are possible, as well as the highest peak of the Cambrian Mountains, Pumlumon (752m). The walk is boggy in places so gaiters are advisable and uneven ground will also be a feature of this walk. The walk is a grade B moderate walk which should last approximately three-and-a-half hours and is over a distance of seven miles with an ascent of 828 feet.The meeting point is at 1pm outside Y Talbot, Tregaron. THE LUNCH on Wednesday, 27 April, held in the Bowls Club was attended by 46 members, who enjoyed an excellent lunch provided by Glenys and her helpers.The afternoon’s entertainment was in the form of a talk by Geraint Lloyd from Radio Cymru. He gave an account of his involvement in Radio Ceredigion and Radio Cymru, and explained how the job had changed over the years with the improvement in technology.There will be a mystery trip on Wednesday, 25 May, instead of the usual lunch. The coach will leave the square in Tregaron at 9am. If you would like to take part, contact Delyth (01974 298593) as soon as possible.
