Macmillan coffee morning

THERE will be a coffee morning at the Memorial Hall on 30 September from 10am to noon to raise money for this worthy cause.

Please come along and support over a chat and a cup of tea, view stalls, buy raffle tickets and have a look at the items in the bring-and-buy sale. Last year’s Macmillan coffee morning raised a £1,000 and organisers are aiming to match that figure or even beat it.

Clwb Cerdded

THE next walk is scheduled for 10 September and is called ‘Snowdon – Summit, sunset and silence on Snowdon’ with leader Dafydd Wyn Morgan (01974 298150).

Changing to a Saturday evening’s walk (with an option to stay overnight), this now annual ascent of Snowdon will be a breath of fresh air compared to recent morning ascents.

Making the most of a warm autumn’s evening, walkers will take in a quiet summit and watch the sun set over Wales, Ireland and England. Then they will don their head torches and head back down carefully.

Sunset is at 7.36pm. The walk is graded a grade C – hard walk, which should last approximately six hours over a distance of nine miles with an ascent of 970ft. The meeting point is at 1.15pm outside Y Talbot and there is only room for a maximum number of 15 people.
