More than 170 people from the local community and further afield attended The Strata Florida Project community open day at Pontrhydfendigaid Pavilion.

Attendees included the chair, vice-chair and leader of Ceredigion County Council, other county councillors and community councillors.

Strata Florida trustees and project partners The Prince’s Foundation and Cynnal y Cardi were on hand to chat and answer questions, and the talks in the afternoon were attended by over 60 people.

Everyone who went to the event had a chance to view the research done so far on Strata Florida and plans for the future of Mynachlog Fawr farm.

Many people took the opportunity to comment on the plans, leave their thoughts about what Strata Florida means to them, and share memories of times spent and family connections with the site and the area.

Tiva Montalbano, the senior project manager at The Prince’s Foundation said she thought the event went “incredibly well”.

“Thank you to everyone that came and spoke to us about the project and the involvement of The Prince’s Foundation,” she said.

Prof David Austin, the chair of the Strata Florida Trust said the open day was “a tremendous start to the project” and thanked everyone who was involved with the day for their support.
