Nefyn FC have paid tribute to club legend Eifion Parry, who died before Christmas, with a minute of applause before their match on 28 December.
Mr Parry, who lost his long battle with cancer on Tuesday, 17 December, was involved with the club for 27 years, holding many roles including kit cleaner, linesman, groundsman, treasurer and secretary.
Last year the club named one of the rain shelters at Cae’r Delyn after Mr Parry in recognition of the work he had done for them.
Declining health led him to relinquish some of the more physically demanding jobs at the club, but he remained an active member and attended most home matches.
A spokesperson for the club said: “It meant a lot to the players and staff at Nefyn United FC to applaud for a minute before kickoff for all his work for the club for 27 years.
“It won’t be the same on Saturday afternoons without. His spirit will be with the club forever and the win was for him against Menai Bridge Tigers.”
