Madam,
I am trying to trace my family and I am hoping that maybe there may be family members of friends who can help me.
David Davies was born in Bronwyn, near Cardigan, in 1856 and as yet I have no other information on him or his family. He joined the police and moved up the ranks between 1881 and 1911 and stayed with Cardiganshire but did move about according to the censuses. He died in 1935.
David married Hannah (1856-1921). She was from Llangoedmor and died at Glandwr, Beulah. I believe her family were from the Llangoedmor area. Her sister Elizabeth married Steven James (1852-1922) and they lived around Llandygwydd.
David and Hannah had seven children. John moved to Australia. Rachel married Evan Richards, a postmaster from Lampeter (my direct link). Evan is a descendant of Cerngoch, brother to Joseph Jenkins the swagman. Thomas became a teacher and moved to Borth and I think Mariann (Pol) stayed in the Llandygwydd area.
If you think you can help or have local photos that include them or villages they lived in please get in touch.
Yours etc, Mel Johnson, Duporth, St Austell, Cornwall.
