Father Christmas is a busy man with lots of places to go and toys to make so he will make one of his earliest trips to the ‘Cambrian News’ region when he comes to Tywyn on Saturday, 14 November.
The town’s Christmas market and festive lights switch-on will include a visit from the man himself, and more.
Tywyn Town Council is still planning finalising the details of the event, but said it “will showcase local musicians and upcoming youngsters.
“We don’t yet have a running order, but similar to past years, we hope to include groups like the Flute Troupe, Clarinet Choir, Samba Band, Tra Mor Singers, the Silver Band, along with solo performances and will be ending the music with performances from our local superstars Connor Newdick, Holly Morris, Tabby Kendall and Chris Pomeroy.
“We are also organising a lantern making workshop in the weeks before the event, and on the day a lantern parade will escort Mr and Mrs Claus to turn on the lights and give presents to the children from inside their grotto. Details will be advertised once confirmed.”
“Tywyn Town Council is pleased to one again be organising our Christmas Lights Switch On, on Saturday, 14 November.
“As a highlight of the year, this ever popular event will kick start the Christmas season for the entire community. The street market, indoor craft fair, food and drink stalls, live music, lantern parade together with a special visit from Mr and Mrs Claus to turn on our lights, means that the day truly offers something for everyone.
“The council is always delighted that the event draws many visitors to the town, providing a vital boost for local businesses. The ability to showcase our local musical talent is extremely important for us and a testament to Tywyn’s unique community spirit.”
