Heavy rain hit Tywyn this afternoon, forcing drivers and pedestrians alike to navigate standing water on the main street through town.

Alwyn Jones captured the scene in a video sent to the Cambrian News (see below).

Thundery weather is being forecast for the next three days with the possibility of flash floods, but this hasn’t dampened spirits at Abergynolwyn show field.

Just before 5pm, the Magic Lantern Cinema tweeted: “Pretty incredible rain just then! Spare a thought for today’s drive in stewards Sara and Chris who were out in it directing traffic for our Mary Poppins Returns audience! The rain isn’t stopping our fun."
