ASDA Pwllheli has boosted its efforts to support anyone affected by breast cancer by raising money from Unity Bands on World Cancer Day.

Asda will stock three types of pink Unity Bands and all money raised will go to Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now, which Asda also supports through its annual Tickled Pink campaign.

Asda Pwllheli’s community champion, Jo Scott, said: “As community champion for the Llyn Peninsula area, I know that our local customers and colleagues will unite to support World Cancer Day.

“We encourage everyone to pop into store and pick up a Unity Band - while you’re there, take a selfie and make a donation - it’s for such a fantastic cause.

“We all know someone who has battled cancer and it’s important we all support each other and help raise money for such causes as we strive to eradicate this disease.

“From a personal point of view, so many members of my family have been affected by cancer; my mother, sisters, grandmother, aunts and brother have all sadly died from cancer. My mother in law has survived breast cancer and my husband has had skin cancer, so it goes without saying that I support and raise money for all the cancer charities I physically can.”

There are three pink Unity Bands to collect this World Cancer Day, and are available in all Asda stores now, for a suggested donation of £2.
