Madam,
I read in the Cambrian News last week of the closure of Coleg Harlech. I agree with Mr Mills that this could be an opportunity to put Harlech back on the map. However, this particular area of Harlech, in particular the St David’s Hotel, has been at the forefront of conversation for many years.
It is now time to put words into action and in the first instance I consider it appropriate for our MP to hold a meeting in connection with the college and surrounding area with a view to listening to the Harlech residents in an effort to resolve this severe blight on the area.
Indeed, our MP Liz Saville Roberts was, I believe, a student at Coleg Harlech herself and, in that connection, I believe an input from our MP is now due.
Also, I still haven’t had a response about the Gwynedd and Mon Public Service Board ‘drop-in’ sessions, which missed Harlech and Barmouth out entirely in their visit to the surrounding areas.
These ‘drop-in’ sessions are supposed to help shape the community’s future. I am now of the opinion that should this particular concern be brought to the attention of the service board, nothing can be done to help residents shape their community because it has become too big a problem for this kind of platform to deal, or help with.
Yours etc,
O Jean Thomas, Llanfair.
