THE National Library of Wales has seen an increase of 30 per cent in visitor numbers to its exhibitions in 2015, figures have shown.
Visitor numbers to the library’s gallery soared to more than 40,700 with library chiefs saying they are hoping to welcome even more visitors in 2016 with a number of “exciting” events and exhibitions planned.
The figures released by CADW show there has been an increase in visitor numbers of over five per cent to its sites.
The National Library said the boost in visitor numbers had been helped with a major exhibition on photographer Philip Jones Griffiths.
A spokesperson said: “The figures relate to the visitors visiting our exhibitions. We had a major exhibition here during 2015 on the world renowned photographer Philip Jones Griffiths.
“We have some more exciting events and exhibitions planned for 2016 and beyond, therefore we hope to attract even more visitors during this year.”
