A VULNERABLE teenager reported missing from Dolgellau area remains unaccounted for.
On Saturday (10 December) North Wales Police launched a search for Logan Austin, 15, who had gone missing from an address in the Dolgellau area.
His disappearance sparked a major search and rescue operation from the Aberdyfi Rescue Team who set out at 2am on Sunday morning to try and locate Logan.
A spokesperson for the rescue team said: “A party of volunteers turned out to provide back-up and support for a Search & Rescue Dogs Association Wales trailing dog, and to provide tracking capability.
“In the absence of more concrete evidence to go on, the team was stood down at 5.45am.”
Following the cancellation of the search, North Wales Police tweeted “Missing person Logan Austin aged 15. NWP no longer have concerns for him. He is not believed to be in our area. Thanks for your assistance.”
Upon further investigation, it appears the missing person case has been passed on to a police force in the south-east of England.
A spokesperson for Essex police stated: “[We] were contacted by officers in North Wales about a teenager who had gone missing.
“It is believed Logan Austin, 15, is in Essex.”
