Madam,

I have recently returned from a three-month working holiday based at Pontrhydygroes in Ceredigion.

During my spare time, I visited all points of the compass, including Aberystwyth, Machynlleth, Llanidloes, Rhayader and Tregaron.

In addition there are of course the many spectacular mountain roads. Then there is the Welsh success story of the Red Kites.

I would like to say what a fine little country you have. Or should I say fine big country! Big in spirit and friendship.

During my stay I learned something of the history and culture of Wales, and there is much to be proud of.

I am looking forward to another visit this summer.

Yours etc, Paul M Wilson, Freshfield Bank, Forest Row, East Sussex.
