Madam,
Large caravan park owners apart, I’m sure that most of us will share, to some degree, the sentiments expressed by Nefyn councillor Gruffydd Williams (Concerns Llyn will be one big caravan site) and his concerns that Llyn is turning into “a larger version of Prestatyn”.
Indeed some of us have issued such a warning for many years to no avail.
But isn’t Gruffydd Williams a Plaid Cymru councillor? Isn’t it his party that has run Gwynedd Council for the last 20 years and has done absolutely nothing to curtail large caravan park developments?
Indeed, on the contrary, they have facilitated and openly supported year-round large caravan sites to the detriment of small-scale applications by local farmers for diversification purposes.
As an additional affront to democracy, Plaid Cymru also dissolved local planning committees in favour of a county-wide one whose members frankly have no idea of local needs and land-use potential outside their own area.
Yours etc,
Alwyn Gruffydd, Tremadog.
