FOLLOWING our pullout last week marking 100 years since the end of the First World War, some more fascinating pictures by Pwllheli photographer Guy Hughes have come to our attention.
National Library of Wales worker and local historian Will Troughton shared some of the photographer’s amazing images from the First World War era, and has more to share with Timewatch this week.
Visual images librarian Will is cataloguing the images and wanted to share these amazing photographs.
“Guy Hughes was a studio photographer in Pwllheli from 1906 up until the 1940s,” Will said.
“We have over 8,000 of his negatives, most of which are numbered. We also have his studio books, which record the negative number and name and address of the sitter(s). There are over 500 for 1919 alone.”
The Guy Hughes Collection is available to view by contacting William Troughton at the National Library.
See this week’s Timewatch feature for more pictures, in shops and online on Thursday
