THE March meeting on Monday, 7 March, saw a last-minute change of speaker as Amy, our local Neighbourhood Policing Officer, was unable to join us. At very short notice Dinah Gibbons agreed to come to the meeting and fill the gap.Dinah is the treasurer of the Ceredigion WI Federation and thus a very busy lady, so her visit was much appreciated by all the members. President Jean Eklund warmly welcomed her and Dinah spoke on one of her interests - which was ‘Paperweights’. She has collected and been given them for a number of years and, as well as enabling us to admire their variety, style and myriad colours of some of them, she was able to enlighten members about glassmaking .The month of April will see the Institute having two meetings. The Waunfawr WI meeting, which will be on Monday, 4 April, will welcome Len Kersley to talk about our local nature reserve – Parc Natur Penglais. On Wednesday, 20 April, we will be joining Borth WI for a talk about the Dyfi Valley Osprey Project.
