It was with great sadness to learn the closure of yet another old established business in Aberystwyth, ie “The hot bread shop”.

This was a popular, convenient and very well-situated premises which was operating for over 30 years.

I have fond memories of when I worked for the Cambrian News, placing our everyday orders for all our departments.

Surely we can’t blame the internet for this one!

Perhaps we need to look closer to home at the intransigencies of so-called local governing bodies.

As it seems this business is another in a long line of small businesses with unacceptable rising costs, which is adding to an already and rapidly declining town, with yet more job losses.
