Regarding the mandatory wearing of masks, several past studies have demonstrated the health risks they pose, particularly to people with breathing difficulties. This is due to the decrease in oxygen levels and increase of carbon dioxide.

Many people such as smokers or those with asthma will have their health compromised whilst wearing one.

People who are hard of hearing will struggle without access to lip reading and there is harm caused to normal human interaction when we are not able to see a smile.

If a person is not coughing or sneezing, then the chances of them passing on any virus is miniscule.

By all means wear one if it’s your personal choice but it should not be compulsory. Not all of us choose to live a life ruled by fear and many of us know that the risks posed by coronavirus are very small indeed. A healthy immune system is a far better defence than any face covering.
