West Wales is set for a deluge of heavy rain on later this week with up to 160mm possible in some areas.

A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for western parts of Wales between midnight on Thursday to the end of Friday with between 40-60mm of rain expected in most areas.

120mm of rain is likely on higher ground with as much as 160mm possible over Snowdonia.

The Met Office says: “Outbreaks of heavy rain are expected to become persistent for periods causing impacts during Thursday and Friday.

“Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.

“Some interruption to power supplies and other services likely.”
